She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Hubert Thornton and Dianne Louise Foxworth; and her brothers, Tommy and Larry Thornton. She is survived by: her husband Jack Edward Griffin; her daughters, Kathy Zobel (Larry), Jackie Mays (Charlie) and Janice Bass (Bobby); her grandchildren, Sandi Wells (Chris), Lawren Zobel Carter (Corey), Lyndsey Catlett, Andrew Griffin Agius, Katy Quirk (Michael), Elizabeth Bass and Adam Bass; her great grandchildren, Jack, Hampton, Samuel and Olivia; her sister-in-law Carolyn Thornton of Harrisburg, N. C.; and her friend Janeil Sparks of Eutawville, S. C.. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens (3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414).
