She was predeceased by: her husband Colonel Edison Yon (Ret); her parents, Ashley Hampton Venning and Leila Aimar Atkinson Venning; and her brother Carlton Venning. She is survived by: her children, Carol Thompson Wood (Marvin), Janice Thompson Moniz Daniel (Andy), Al Thompson, Jr. (Ginny) and Gayle Thompson Hall (Kent); her grandchildren, Amy Berrens, Cheree Negreiros, Joshua Wood, Brian Moniz, Lauren Moniz, Philip Moniz, Christina Burn, Ashley Thompson and Trey Thompson; and her sister Shirley Kruger. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
