He was predeceased by: his parents, Blanche Alphonse (Tisdale) and Francis Charles Alphonse; his brother Francis "Al" Alphonse; his sister-in-law Nicki Heslop Alphonse; his niece Maryellen Gunter; his mother-in-law Lois Vanderburg; and his brother-in-law James Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Kitty Alphonse (Markwalter); his son Emmet Michael Alphonse, Jr. (Jennifer); his granddaughter Eliza M. Alphonse; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Taylor, Terry Vanderburg Cutrell (Jeff) and Chuck Vanderburg (Pam). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
