He was predeceased by: his parents, William Raymond and Fannie Taylor Blanton; his daughter Tracey Lynn Johnson; and his grandson Justin Todd Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Frances Blanton of Charleston; his children, Jarrell Scott Blanton (Nancy) of Charleston and Lisa Rene Cable (Randy) of Huger; his grandchildren, Joshua Johnson (Ainsley), Kyle Blanton (Paige), Cameron Sabin (Megan) and Chandler Sabin (Anna); his great grandchildren, Katlyn, Lily and Maddox; and his siblings, James, Nell Mills of Dalton, Georgia, Mary Ann Walters of Baxter and Wilie Mae Asher (Bud) of Harlan, Kentucky.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pinecrest Baptist Church (1285 Ashley Hall Rd, Charleston, SC 29407). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
