He was predeceased by: his grandson David Shriver Soliday, IV; and his parents, Gordon Jones and Annie Laurie Bibb Jones. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Peterson Jones; and his children, Ruth Jones Lilly (Steve) of Mount Pleasant, Gordon Jones (Jennifer) of North Augusta and Ashley Jones Lawrence of Mount Pleasant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Porter-Gaud Foundation designated for the Shriver Soliday Memorial Scholarship and Endowment, the Anderson Free Clinic, Anderson County, South Carolina, and Apparo Academy, Augusta, Georgia.
