It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Altine of Charleston, South Carolina, born in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Bertha W. Altine; his son Robert M. Altine; and his grandson Jason R. Altine. He is survived by: his partner Jean Smith; his daughter Diane Simmons (James, Jr.); his daughter-in-law Sharon Poole (Eric); his grandchildren, Jay Simmons, Kati Knowland (Josh), Ashley Broderick (Pat), Jessica Evans (Josh), Maggie McGuirt (Baxter), Whitney Mersereau (Will), Faith Poole and Hope Poole; and his sister-in-law Janie Sims. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
