He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hartnett of Moore; his children, Kathy Hartnett of Raleigh, Allison Menendez (Joey) and John Hartnett, Jr. (Stacy); his grandchildren, Madison, Holly Collins and Sam Hartnett; and his stepgrandchildren, Adriana and Colton Menendez.
