With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Johnnie N. Smith Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 1, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie N., Sr. and Alice Barrineau Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Shannon Smith (Kevin) of Charleston, Michael Smith (Jaime) of Charleston and Jason Smith (Cameron) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Ashley Peagler (Larry), Bryan Agro, Matthew Smith, Austin Smith, Logan Smith, Daniel Smith, Anna Smith and Jacob Smith; his great grandchild Caleb Peagler of Charleston; his sister Ginger Melendez of Chillicothe, IL; and his caregivers, Ann, Dawn, Deniece, Amy, Michele and Cara. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church (1601 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund or Roper-St. Francis Hospice, Ladson, SC.
