He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Daniel Barnette and Bernard Martin Barnette; and his brother Bernard Wayne Clark. He is survived by: his wife Katherine K. Barnette; his children, Debora Whitzel, Jennifer Brinson and Joseph Earl Barnette; his grandchildren, Joseph Matthew Barnette, Jenna Barnette, Jillian Barnette (Jay), Raymond Courtney, Erynn Armstrong and Hannah Strange; his great grandchildren, Lukah Armstrong and Jonah Armstrong; and his sister Charleine Holder.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at the Stono Baptist Church Cemetery (6305 SC-165, Ravenel, SC 29470).
