He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Darby Sr. and Eloise M. Janerette Darby; and his wife Mary Bright Darby of Walterboro, SC. He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Jason Christopher Darby (Cherisse Thomas-Darby) of Columbia, SC and Jeremy Christian Darby (Hayley Lawrence-Darby) of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Jax Lawrence, Zora Josephine, Naomi Cherisse and Julius Marcellus; and his siblings-in-law, Eva Goodwin (Lloyd) of Walterboro, SC, Queen Young of Fayetteville, NC, Edith Bright Washington of Walterboro, SC, Judy Williams of Walterboro, SC, Rose Simpson of Walterboro, SC, John Bright of Walterboro, SC and Robert Bright of Walterboro, SC. He is also survived by eight nieces, three nephews; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews; a large extended family; and a close circle of friends.
