It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Young Spann of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marguerite Heidenreich Young and John Ossian Young; her husband Albert Pringle Spann; and her sisters, Iris Watkins, Lorraine Bonds and Frances Barnett.
She is survived by: her children, Marguerite Clayton (Michael Clayton) of Summerville, SC, Julia Mitchell (Paul) of Bamberg, SC, Albert Pringle Spann, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Natalie Crenshaw of Charleston, SC.; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Maute, John Mitchell, Paul Mitchell, William Mitchell, Brooke Hamilton and Ray Crenshaw; and her great grandchildren, Gabe Maute, Lillie Maute, Tanner Mitchell, Ellie Mitchell, Everly Mitchell, Willow Crenshaw and Norah Crenshaw.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of choice.
