Judith M. McDowell Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Judith M. McDowell of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on March 4, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald F. McMahon and Genevieve Kanapaux McMahon; her husband Bob; and her sister-in-law Judge Judy Lentine McMahon. She is survived by: her stepchildren, Robert Hayden McDowell (Kristi), Frances Jenkins McDowell Bailey (Steve) and William Nevil McDowell (Jill); her brothers, Frederick William McMahon and Gerald Frederick McMahon, Jr.; her nieces, Maire Hennessy McMahon Davitt (Lou) of Charleston and Sarah Bridges Hales (Kevin) of Charleston; her grandchildren, Mary Ellen Doscher, William Lucas Doscher, Basil Lawrence Lucas, Bailey Lancaster Lucas, Margaret Genevieve Lucas, Frances Courtenay McDowell, Caroline McDowell Westover (Cameron), Robert Hislop McDowell, Mariah Housel McDowell, Steven Evander Bailey, Jr., Frances Jenkins Bailey, Helen Huette McDowell and Eliza Cahill McDowell; her great-nephew George James Hales; and her great grandchildren, Giselle Dos Santos, Abigail, Sydney and Kadance Westover.
