He is survived by: his wife Hazel Jennings Hiott of Charleston, SC; his daughter Tanya Read (Emerson) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Sarah Niforos (Zachary) of Groton, CT, Marian Rowland (Kevin) of Hanahan, SC and Emerson Read, III (Emily); his great grandchildren, Jackson Kaiser, Noah Kaiser, Charlotte Niforos, Olivia Niforos, Madison Rowland, Katelyn Rowland and Saylor Read; and his siblings, Polly Snodgrass (Kenny), Christi O'Toole (Charlie), Tim Hiott (Georgia) and Chuck Hiott (Connie).
