He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Van Hook, Sr. and Nell Thigpen Van Hook. He is survived by: his wife Dana; and his sons, Tyler (Genevieve) of Mills River, NC and Alexander of Charleston, SC..
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Unitarian Church of Charleston (4 Archdale St, Charleston, SC 29401).
