He was predeceased by: his brother Jason Pineau. He is survived by: his parents, Dr. David McCarus and Joyce McCarus; his siblings, David McCarus Jr., Dr. Monet McCarus, Stacey Pineau and Courtney Pineau; his nephews, Samuel Pineau and Matteo Bos; and his niece Sophia Laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Matthew's memory to Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
