She was predeceased by: her husband Jack R. McDaniel; her parents, William Spencer and Viola Douglas Ryals; and her brothers, John S. Ryals and Samuel Bradford Ryals.

She is survived by: her children, Peggy McDaniel Salvage and Jack Lee McDaniel (Kathy); her granddaughters, McKayla Brooke Damon, Mary Elizabeth Damon, Helen Ann McDaniel and Jacqueline Leigh McDaniel; her great grandchild Baylor James Redick; and her half-sister Molly York.
