He is survived by: his children, Laurie Alderson Smith (Kirby) of Charleston, SC and Patrick Alderson, Jr. (Jenny) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Adair Fontaine Smith, Katheryn Maverick Smith and Jackson Calvin Alderson; his sisters, Louise Moran (Joe) and Connie Sherman (Terry); his brothers-in-law, Mendel Scurfield (late Linda) and Tracy Scurfield; his niece Cassie Garrett; and his nephews, Chris Meek, Justin Sherman (Nichole) and Tyler Sherman (Gabriela).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Presbyterian Church (53 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29401).
