He is survived by: his wife Linda Thornhill; his children, Roy Alexander and Lynn Marie; his son-in-law William Miller; his grandchildren, Bodhi Shryock and Kai Hendrix; his sister Linda Ragland Fisher; his niece Katy Fisher-Cunningham (Brantley Cunningham); and his daughter Brantley Lois Cunningham (Tilly).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made in his honor to support Lowcountry Maritime Preservation Organizations.
