She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Howard Thompson and Patricia Meade (Layton); and her husband Arch. She is survived by: her children, Archibald Legare Watkins, Jr. (Monika) of Baltimore, MD and Elizabeth Blair Watkins Dorneanu (Daniel) of Charleston, SC; and her grandchildren, Caroline Maria Dorneanu, Peter Layton Dorneanu, Miriam Legare Watkins and Blair Houstoun Watkins.
