We announce the death of Thomas Calvin Barnette of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 88. Thomas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his mother Sarah A. Brinkley; and his sister Ann Brinkley Bell. He is survived by: his wife Libby Kincaid Barnette; his daughters, Sara B. Cox (Russell) of Charleston, SC, Stacy B. Morgan (Barry) of Lexington, SC and Shawn B. DuPre (Sonny) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Wyatt Diggs (Erica), Taylor Diggs, Madeline Hall (Justin), Elaina Morgan, Gervais DuPre (Carly) and Hamlin DuPre; his stepgranddaughters, Renee Stratton (Mike) and April Glover (Neil); and his sisters, Barbara Barnette and Sandra B. Jones. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and loving sisters and brothers-in laws.
