He is survived by: his wife Shirley Mercer Tanner; his children, William "Billy" H. Tanner, III (Michelle) and Sherri Tanner Jones (Brian); his grandchildren, Madison Jones Ross (Brian) and Matthew Henderson Tanner (Maddie); his great grandchildren, Walker Jones Ross and Grady James Ross; his brother Guerry Ryan Tanner; and his pet Brandy.
