He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Edwin Smith and Rose "Jackie" Baptiste Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lavinia Bruorton Smith; his children, Adell Smith Hutto (Andy), Kellie Smith Suggs (Bobby) and Blake Edwin Smith; his sister Jackie Smith Henning; and his grandchildren, William Hutto, Tyler Suggs, Logan Suggs and Mason Suggs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
