We bid farewell to Wynema L Atkins of Charleston, South Carolina, born in Ada, Oklahoma, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 28, 2024 at the age of 87. Wynema touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by : her sons, Johnny Hilton, John Atkins, Tom Atkins and David Atkins; and her siblings, Earl Lee, Dennis Atkins and Magalene Starnes.

She is survived by : her spouse Van D Atkins; her mother Mary Etta Patterson Akins; her children, Ronny Hilton (Hillary) and Cheri Marie Atkins Calhoun (Robert Wayne); her daughter-in-law Mary Lou Hilton; and her sisters, Thelma Webb and Velma Barrett. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Charleston Baptist Church (13 San Miguel Rd, Charleston, SC 29407). A burial was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at the Carolina Memorial Park (7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406).
