He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Pope and Alice Lillian Steen Pope; and his brother James R. "Ronnie" Pope, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Maria Martinez Pope; his son Anthony Charles Pope (Sandy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Anthony David Pope, Jr., Nicholas Pope and Katherine Pope; and his nephews, James R. Pope, Jr. (Karin McElveen) of Cheraw, SC and Prentiss "Buddy" Pope of Hickory, NC..
