It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mondell Bowers Brasington (Cheraw, South Carolina), who passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnie Adam and Martha Viola Mauldin Bowers; her husband Henry Williamson Brasington, Sr.; her son Henry "Hank" Williamson Brasington, Jr.; and her brothers, Edward Bowers and Lamar Bowers.
She is survived by: her daughter Deborah "Debbie" Anne Brasington Adams of Cheraw, SC; her sister Ruby Bowers Forrest of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Henry "Trey" Brasington, III, Dustin Adam Brasington (Lauryn), John Erwin Adams (Rachel) and Laura Anne Adams McGriff (Dustin); and her great grandchildren, Tysen Brasington, Mason Brasington, Ethan Brasington, Braxton Adams, Paisley Adams, Evelyn McGriff, Levi McGriff and Rollins McGriff.
Following her children's education, Mondell made significant contributions to her community by working in the library at Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw and later co-owning The Women's Shop in Cheraw with her sister-in-law.
