It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry McDowell of Chesnee, South Carolina, who passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jerry departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Jerry. Though Jerry may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lionel Burnett McDowell and Betty Ruth Ezell McDowell; and his sister Sherie Painter. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Marie Miller McDowell; and his children, Richie McDowell (Courtney) of Cowpens, Hope Peeler (Rex) of Chesnee and Yvette McKelvey (Kyle) of Fort Benning, GA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Arrowwood Baptist Church (1410 SC-11, Chesnee, SC 29323). A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
