He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burton Hicks Sr. and Bobbie Roe Hicks; his grandson Cameron Hall; and his brothers, John Burton Hicks Jr. and Jeffery Scott "Scottie" Hicks.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Brooks Hicks; his son Michael Albert Hicks (Megan) of Mooresboro; his siblings, Tammy Hicks of Chesnee, David Hicks of Chesnee, Howard Hicks of Mooresboro and Harold Hicks (Kathy) of Chesnee; his grandchildren, Michaela Hicks, Noah Hicks, Zoie Hicks, Gracie Hicks, Cayden Blackwood, Malachi Blackwood, Holden Hall, Braxton Hall and Violet "Jo" Hall; and his great grandchildren, Leland Hicks, Lukas Hicks, Paislynn Hicks and Raven Wines.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Calendar Harris-Nadeau Mortuary (5880 Chesnee Hwy, Chesnee, SC 29323). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
