Barbara May Alderson Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara May Alderson (Chester, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 14, 2026 at the age of 103. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Aldrich May (Anna Sjogren May) and Barbara; her husband Harold Alderson; and her brothers, Oliver Ezekiel May and William Aldrich May.

She is survived by: her stepson Philip C. Alderson (Elyse Alderson) of Roswell, Georgia; her grandson Jeff P. Alderson (Kaylan Alderson); her great grandchildren, Ellie and Sophie Alderson of Charlotte; her granddaughter Kristin Blonsky; her great grandchild Harrison Blonsky of Miami, Florida.; her sister Wilana Kemp Madden of Richmond, Virginia; her friends, Jan and Ed Mauney of Chester; and her nieces, Barbara Ann Kemp McCahill, Susie Kemp Kump, Ginny Kemp Hardman and Kathy May Gallant. She is also survived by four nephews; eight great-nephews; four great-nieces; nine great-great-nephews; and seventeen great-great-nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite veterans' organization or animal rescue mission, honoring Barbara's lifelong passions.
