He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence Lathan and Nannie Brakefield Lathan; his wife Margaret Cassels Lathan; and his siblings, Donald Lathan, Henry Lathan, Margaret L. Phillips and Dorothy Ann Lathan.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie McCorkle (Al) of Rock Hill, SC and Marion Lathan of Chester, SC; his grandchildren, Zack McCorkle (Brittany) of Rock Hill, SC and Kristen Joy Sutherland (Walter) of Anderson, SC; his great grandchildren, Ryleigh McCorkle, Kate McCorkle and Whitt McCorkle; and his siblings, Sarah L. Hargett of Chester, SC and Charles L. Lathan (Jewell) of Chester, SC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
