He is survived by: his wife Sue Jones Thompson; his son Ben Thompson (Lindsay) of Gastonia, NC; his sibling's children, Katie Carter, Carey Smith, Jennifer Miller and Jacob Jones; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Jones (Janet) of Blackstock, SC, Cathy Jones of Richburg, SC and Sondra Fulk.
