It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Bates of Chester, South Carolina, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Linda Bates to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick DeMarzo and Alice Zigirski DeMarzo; and her grandsons, Eric Bates and Johnathan Bates. She is survived by: her children, Paul Bates of Chester, Michael Bates (Astarte) of Cleveland, Robert Bates of Chester, John Bates (Shannon) of New Bedford, Massachusetts and Patricia Bates of Chester; her siblings, Anthony DeMarzo (Harold) of Dover, Delaware, Christine Langer (Neal) of Bayville, NJ and Sue Rieder of Metuchen, NJ.; her grandchildren, Aleesha, Justin, Ian and Christina Bates; her great grandchildren, Isaiah Jackson, Averie Strong, Zoey Jackson, Dakari Jackson and Eric Bates, Jr.; her siblings' children, Joshua, Dylan Langer and Rachel Langer; and her friend Sheila Marland.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Pollard Funeral Home (115 York St, Chester, SC 29706). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery.
