He is survived by : his wife Bonnie Rivers Boan; his daughter Anna Boan (Trey Dordal) of Cheraw, SC; his siblings, Eddie Boan of Bennettsville, SC, Patricia Harp (W. T.) of Bennettsville, SC, Wendy Polson of Bennettsville, SC, Sue Quick (Willard) of Bennettsville, SC, Vickie Smith of Cheraw, SC, Debbie Gulledge of Dillon, SC, Joyce Dixon of Cheraw, SC and Marie Cheek (Billy) of Bennettsville, SC; and his mother-in-law Opal Marscelle Rivers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
