He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Melton and Lucille Hancock Melton; his siblings, Evelyn Vining, Gladys Black and Carroll Melton; and his nephews, Chris Melton, Dustin Melton and Scottie Brigman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ricky Melton (Diane) of Ruby, SC, Vicky McIntyre (Frank) of Ruby, SC, Vivian Brigman (Alana) of Ruby, SC and Billy Allen; and his caregiver Amanda Rayfield Rumph.
