He is survived by: his wife Sandra Autrey Smith; his children, Rick Smith Jr., Jennifer Smith, Renee Smith, Kiera Steen (Shane) and Amanda Sharphead; and his siblings, Terry Smith (Darlene), Nathan Smith (Kayln) and Janice Hartis (Kenneth). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Lakeland Memorial Park (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
