He was predeceased by: his parents, Brock Dixon and Idell Hicks Dixon; his wife Doris Jean Bowers Dixon; and his siblings, Jessie "Dick" Dixon, Harvey Lee Dixon and Rachel Yarborough.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Joe Dixon (Stacy) of Patrick, SC, Danny Wayne Dixon (Sherri) of Chesterfield, SC, David Scott Dixon (Leigh Ann) of Patrick, SC, Sherrie Lynn Allen of North Augusta, SC and Sandra Lee Miskelly of Clearwater, SC.; and his sisters, Patricia A. Rogers of Chesapeake, VA, Anne McCormick of Cheraw, SC and Becky Ann Hayden of Suffolk, VA. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
