He was predeceased by : his parents, Calvin Walker and Irma Dutton Rivers; and his wife Kathy Rivers. He is survived by : his sister Phyllis Deese of Jefferson, SC; his nephew Josh Desse (Danielle) of Lexington, SC; his niece Mallory Deese of Jefferson, SC; his great-nieces, Reneesmee Deese and Isadora Deese; his close friend Patrice Stubbs of Raeford, NC; his stepchildren, Jessica Hayes of Hope Mills, NC and Justin Lewis of Rockingham, NC; his granddaughter Olivia Ford of Hope Mills, NC.; and also April Stubbs.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home (318 E Main St, Chesterfield, SC 29709). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
