She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley and Pearlie Mae Burr Turner; her husband Robert G. Dew; her sons, Eddie Freeman, Mike Freeman and Phillip Freeman; and her siblings, Hardy, Paul, Coleman, David, Grayland Turner, Ethelene Grant, Naomi McDonald, Iris McKnight and Lois Gaskins.
She is survived by: her daughters-in-law, Susan Freeman of Chesterfield, SC and Lucinda Hodges of Darlington, SC; her stepson Patrick Dew of Angier, NC; and her grandchildren, Timmy Freeman, Genny Freeman, Ricky Pulliam, Christina Foster, Laura Freeman, Amy Previtte, Melissa Horne and Stephanie Freeman. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
