She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis B. Gainey and Mittie Purvis Gainey; her son Michael H. White; her siblings, Walter "Bobby" Gainey, Reverend Larry R. Gainey, Otis Gainey, Jr. and Anita G. Hicks; and her son-in-law Johnny Woods.
She is survived by: her daughter Melissa W. Suydam (Bryan) of Murphy, NC; and her grandchildren, Joshua Woods of Patrick, SC, Courtney Woods Frazier (Meneesha) of Fort Mill, SC, Alex White of Chesterfield, SC. and Hunter White of Chesterfield, SC..
