She was predeceased by: her parents, Walker Kelly Wilkerson and Joyce Crowley Wilkerson; her husband Mitchell Huey Smith; her grandson Charles William Gooden; and her siblings, Vernon Wilkerson, Owen Wilkerson, Masa Lee Wilkerson, Sylveria Wilkerson, Catherine Davis, Ivy Campbell, Hazel Cassidy, Annie Sue Gooden and Edith Wilkerson.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Jo Starnes (Jeff) and Charles Gooden (Patty Ann) of Patrick, SC; her grandchildren, Chad Starnes, Scotty Starnes (Amber), Paige Kovalski (Jay), Jordan Gooden (Brandon) and Katie Gooden (Wylie); her great grandchildren, Mason Starnes, Tanner Starnes, Tyler Starnes, Tinsley Kovalski, Bianca Kovalski and Arabella Kovalski; her sister Linda Gooden; and her former husband Roy Gooden. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
