She was predeceased by : her parents, Clarence Oakley and Ethel Stanton Oakley; her husband Fred "Olin" Rivers; and her siblings, Charles Oakley, Molly Oakley and Perry Oakley.

She is survived by : her sons, Israel Rivers (Tammy Cauly) of Columbia, SC and Douglas Rivers (Erin) of Chapin, SC; her grandchild Decklan Rivers; her siblings, Peggy Rivers (Mike) of Chesterfield, SC, Robert Oakley (Bobbie) of Chesterfield, SC and Tony Oakley (Melinda) of Cheraw, SC; and her friend Hopewell Baptist Church. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hopewell Baptist Church (15084 SC-9, Chesterfield, SC 29709). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

“Mrs. Rivers was such a gentle, soft spoken, kindhearted person. It was such a pleasure taking care of her here at Fresenius Irmo Dialysis. I have had the pleasure of working with her as one of her dialysis techs, before becoming the secretary at Irmo. Whether working as her tech, setting up her trips to Chesterfield and Myrtle Beach or sitting talking to her in the lobby, it has really been nice. If only all could be like Mrs. Rivers, it would be such a blessing. She will be missed. Tonya”
