He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Smiley and Annie Mae Copeland Smiley. He is survived by: his wife Bernetta Smiley; his children, Therain Ballard (Shameka), Reginald Young, Sentara Smiley, Anna Smiley, Rayna Smiley and Wendy Young; and his siblings, Walter Smiley, Cora Smiley and Ida Shepherd. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
