He is survived by: his wife Ida Smiley Sheppard; and his daughters, Vallet Hymes (Leroy), Vellet Dogan (Robert), Bonnie Jones (Larry) and Tamiko Hendrickson. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and close friends.
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Childs Funeral Home Chapel (301 W Carolina Ave, Clinton, SC 29325).
