She was predeceased by : her parents, Furman W. Frady and Pearl Sessoms Frady; her son Robert Larry Shepherd; her brother George W. Frady, Sr.; her sister-in-law Barbara A. Frady; her former life partner Francis G. Shepherd, Jr.; her husband Ernest T. Garren, Jr.; her stepmother Lucille M. Frady; her stepsiblings, F. Keith McGee, Jolene M. Holmgreen and J. Phillip McGee; and her siblings-in-law, Laurence C. Shepherd, Robert S. Shepherd and Ellen Shepherd.

She is survived by : her children, Michael W. Shepherd (Karen) of Middletown, RI and Deborah S. DeTroia (Richard); her grandchildren, Dale A. Shepherd (Jennifer) of Phoenix, AZ, Rebecca S. Wakefield (Ian) of Middletown, RI and Adam M. Shepherd (Allan Wernik) of Portsmouth, RI; her great grandchild Nicholas A. Shepherd of Bonney Lake, WA.; her nephew George W. Frady, Jr.; her nieces, Kathy Long (Carroll), Lynn Mims (Parker), Dottie Edwards (Joel) and Barbara Nelson (Vernon); her sisters-in-law, Martha Hall (Dave) and Freida Shepherd; her stepdaughter Patricia A. Keefe (William); her stepgrandchildren, Lee Eunice (Tina), Dee Dee Harper and Jessie Clyburn (Robert); and her pet Jax.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rosemont Cemetery (807 Willard Rd, Clinton, SC 29325). A reception was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 3:00 PM.
