She was predeceased by: her parents, James Harry Thomas Bridges and Annie Louise Bridges; her siblings, Louise Fraley, Larry Bridges, Jerry Bridges and Dean Bridges; and her son-in-law Eddie Mathis.
She is survived by: her husband Leroy Mitchem; her daughters, Teresa Mathis and Ann Pierce (Jerry); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Brent), Bobby (Lacey), Jamie (Kellie), Justin (Ashley) and Garland; her great grandchildren, Emily, Kolton, Arthur, Baylee, Jaxen, Karaline and Lukas; her sisters, Libby Wison and Jane Emory; her sisters-in-law, Karen Bridges, Judy Bridges and Christy Bridges; her pet Princess; and her friend Jody Ghorley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church of Bessemer City 202 North 14th Street Bessemer City, NC 28016.
