He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Dell Walters Puryear and Burnell Puryear; and his sibling's children, Brad Puryear, Josh Puryear and Michelle Puryear.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Puryear; his daughter Emily Puryear Johnson; his son-in-law Alexander Johnson; his brothers, John Puryear (Rita) and Roger Puryear; and his siblings' children, Wade Puryear (Carrie), Crystal Ward (Nick) and Joseph Montgomery (Caitlin). He is also survived by friends and cousins.
