He is survived by: his wife Laura Smith; his stepson Robert Kling (Paula) of Derby; his children, Amanda Watkins (Brad) of Fredericksburg, Adam Smith (Fernanda Kim) of Frederick and Alyson Hendrix (Austin) of Fort Mill; his grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna, Aiden, Ashton, Jameson and Anistyn; and his siblings, Sandra Henry of Mechanicsburg, PA, Beatrice Van Meter (John) of Huron, Ohio and Richard Smith of Vermillion, Ohio. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Palmetto Funeral Home (2049 Carolina Pl Dr, Fort Mill, SC 29708). A celebration of life was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
