It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Jean Nassef (Clover, South Carolina), born in Saluda, South Carolina, who passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. George Nassef; and her son Robert Marshall Whitener, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Carman Cullen-Batt (Eric); her stepson George Nassef Jr. (Brooke); her grandchildren, Catherine Smith (Brady) and Gavin Nassef; and her great grandchildren, Amelia and Hattie Smith. She is also survived by four siblings and 18 nieces and nephews.
