He was predeceased by: his parents, Heinz Held and Tatiana Held; and his brother George Dieter Held. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Held; his children, Steven Held (Mary) and Emily Farr (Ellis); and his grandchildren, Will, Carter and Catie Farr.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223).
