We are sad to announce that on June 18, 2025, Billy Edward Helms Sr. in Columbia, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie A. Helms and Rinnie Rosada Baker Helms; his daughters, Judy Faye Helms and Patty Helms Truett; and his sisters, Evelyn Pritchard, Marie Anglin and Ruby Jackson.
He is survived by: his children, Billy E. Helms, Jr. (Karin) and Joye Barrs (Mike) of Sumter; and his siblings, Bobby J. Helms (Geneva) of Daleville, AL and Yvette Reeder of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home (221 Broad St, Sumter, SC 29150). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery (2445 Old Manning Rd, Sumter, SC 29150).
