It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Calvin Edwin Cooper of Columbia, South Carolina, born in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Cooper and Annie E. Craft Cooper; his grandson Johari Hall; and his brother-in-law Joseph M. Samuel. He is survived by: his wife Linda Samuel; his children, Christopher Cooper, Aziza Warner (Tommy) and LaShonna Bookert (Franklin); his grandchildren, Javon, Samari, Korbin, Tynese, Giovanni, Kyree, Kaleel and Kenian; his great grandchild Kali; his siblings, Arthur Cooper, Jr., Gwendolyn Brooklyn (Jimmy) and Angela McNamee; his in-laws, Larry Samuel (Jaqueline), Sandra Bookert (Micheal), Anthony Samuel (Maria), Gail Hollis (Michael) and Tanisha Hall (Teon); and his friends, Barry Denis and Allen Darden. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
